At the ripe age of 74, I joined the Hua Ying Tai Chi & Wushu Academy. I started taking private classes twice a week with Master Bao.
After six weeks of practicing Tai Chi, I noticed that my legs are stronger and my balance has also improved. Now, I can stand on one leg for 10 seconds. Strong legs are important because they protect me from falls.
I used to wake up from sleep to go to the toilet 4 to 5 times at night. Now, I only go to the toilet once at night. Overall, my body is more relaxed and flexible. Since I started Tai Chi, there is less muscle and joint pain.
I had always known that practicing Tai Chi brings numerous health benefits. However, I haven’t had the opportunity to start learning as I didn’t meet the right teacher till this year, 2021.
I am so glad that I have started my Tai Chi journey! Regardless of your age, its never too late to start Tai Chi.
