Eleanor Cheah shared her amazing brain scan (EEG) results with us recently. She has been learning Tai Chi with Master David Bao for the past 10 years.
The brain scan showed that both her left and right brain are perfectly equal. Another interesting point was that her brain waves were in alpha and theta state when she was mentally alert.
The professor who interpreted her results commented that most people are in alpha and theta state when they are meditating. When asked if she meditates, Eleanor said “No, the closest thing I do to meditating is my regular practice of Tai Chi.”
During Tai Chi practice, a Tai Chi practitioner is required to slow down, connect to the breath and move mindfully. Tai Chi practice is a meditation in motion. After regular practice, one will be able to carry this relaxed state throughout the day.
Tai Chi movements involves synergistic movement of both hands and legs. This may also contribute to the balanced state in the left and right brain.
