The Brush Knee & Twist Step (Yang-style Tai Chi Walk 3) is usually practiced after the warm-up exercise as part of the Tai Chi Fundamental Skills Exercise 基本功 (Jibengong).
In our classes, students practice the Tai Chi Fundamental Skills Exercise for about 30 minutes before starting Tai Chi practice.
Regular practice of the Brush Knee & Twist Step improves coordination, balance, as well as leg and core muscle strength.
